I’m selling my old motorcycle, but want to keep my new motorcycle helmet for when I buy another motorcycle in about 10 years. Can I store my motorcycle helmet for that long? What’s the best way to store it? How long before it looses its ability to keep my head safe in a crash?

This video features my friend Scott crashing his KTM 250 in Bakersfield, CA. He actually cleared the gap a year earlier, but it was not on film. We attempted to capture it for a video and this was the result. Surprisingly, all he broke was his femur and some bones in his hand, when he easily could have broke his neck. Sorry for the shaking camera, I thought my friend had just died.

Yamaha rider pulls a Stoppie in the middle of a busy Boulevard and gets hit from behind by another rider [who's obviously obeying the speedlimit] – Resulting in a nasty broken leg for the Yamaha rider and minor injuries for the rider who hit him. You can clearly see his lower leg bend at a terrible angle at point 6.5 seconds. EDIT: Quote LeeLo44 “Here’s the true story. The endo guy was not suppose to stop at that moment. The 2nd rider was to be skitching past the camera for the documentary called 12 O’clock. The re-re did the endo without looking back and the 2nd rider was unable to steer away (but did try). Endo guy broke his ankle, the skitcher had some nasty road rash which was cleaned out with wire brushes at the ER. In the end of the video the skitcher is holding the endo guys leg together. Take it from me I was there.” – LeeLo44 ——– Please keep in mind when watching this video that true motorcycle enthusiasts generally look down apon these types of riders as being squids – “Stupidly Quick, Underdressed, Ignorant and Dangerous”. The actions of these riders by no means represent the overwhelming majority of riders who are observant to both the laws of the road and the laws of common sense. Keep it on private roads or the race track, and wear proper protective gear. A full face helmet, leather jacket, gloves and full length boots will save your quality of life in the event of an accident [which is quite likely].
